5 ways to help navigate the holiday season!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It really is.  I LOVE the Christmas season. Family gatherings, buying presents for people, Christmas music and decorations, hot cocoa, and the list goes on!

Because so much happens in this season, we tend to do things in a hurry over the holidays.  We over plan, we eat more, we buy more and when we do, we end up neglecting ourselves.

Here are 5 ways to help navigate the holiday season and make it a reason to celebrate instead of cause stress:

Get moving

Just because it’s the holiday season, doesn’t mean your health needs to be pushed aside.  You will be surprised how much more energy you will have for all the holiday festivities when you keep your mind and body fit.  Take a spin class, or go to a yoga class to unwind.  Whatever it is, get your body moving!
Don’t forget to pack your CLEAN SLATE wipes when you go! They smell like lemongrass, which will naturally fight off bacteria after that workout.

Make your list early and with intention

I message my family in November to ask them what they would like for Christmas. My brother, sister and I agreed that we do not need to get each other presents.  This saves us the stress of time and money.  We just want to spend the day together and with people we love.

For my mom, she has recently been making the switch to all natural beauty products. I am going to give her a TOK Beauty Gift Box to open.  It is full of goodies for under $100. Magnetic Lashes, Natural Mascara and Natural Wipes with a FREE lash applicator for the lashes. She’s going to love it!
I will also pick her up a few more goodies from The Detox Market for her stocking. There subscription boxes are a good idea too!

My dad loves TOK Beauty CLEAN SLATE wipes for his golf bag! He says that they are refreshing and a great way to wipe off sweat during and after his game. I am going to get him the three-pack of wipes here.
He also wants some custom golf balls with his name on it.  I guess so he doesn’t lose them. 😉

A couple other gifts for my nephew and niece and I am all set!

Give yourself the gift of self-care

Don’t forget to take care of yourself this holiday season.  It’s okay to say ‘no’ to that holiday party you didn’t really want to go to in the first place. It’s ok to leave a holiday party early, or indulge in a couple glasses of red wine and enjoy the night! The important thing is to listen to your body.
Wake up 20 minutes earlier and take time to get ready before your busy days. I know that when I have time to do my hair and put on some makeup before the day begins, I am a more productive person.
Get the new LASHLUV mascara for yourself here.

Give back

One of the best ways to celebrate the holiday season is to give back! Volunteer at your local shelter, or donate some toys to the salvation army.  Even something as small as buying a stranger a coffee in the drive-thru can put a smile on someone’s face. Pay it forward this holiday season!

Be grateful

The holidays can be a tough time for a lot of people.  Take the time to be present with everyone around you.  Write down five things a day that you are grateful for. Sounds weird, but it works! I do it. Maybe you are thankful for your home, your dog, your friends, your job, your smile, your personality. Whatever you think of, write five things down daily.

Cheers to a happy holiday season!

TOK soon,

Tara
